My first print review for Coffee Cellar

November 5, 2011

I’m extremely happy right now. I just walked into my local newsagent to peruse the magazines and, totally by chance, stumbled across a written review for Coffee Cellar. Totally unexpected and awesome in equal measure. The magazine in question is Tap! – a UK iPhone & iPad print magazine. Here it is…

Pivotal moment in my App development career :)

Negative Critical Reception

March 13, 2010

Indie Game Mag Rocket SantaThis week i’ve been stripping my next game back to its core mechanics. I’m really evolving the core gameplay into something that I hope is easy to pick up and instantly enjoyable. Currently the core mechanic revolves around exploration and an element of risk vs reward.

As part of the evolved gameplay, the visuals are also changing on a daily basis. I’m still not happy with the basic style and thats something i’m working on. keep reading…

Review of Star Fusion by App Girl Reviews

November 17, 2009

Star Fusion has had another professional review, this time from App Girl Reviews who scored the game 7/10. Its always nice to see your game reviewed, especially on a site such as App Girl Reviews which seems to be growing in popularity.

You can read the full review here. Here are some excerpts…

“Star Fusion is deceptively simple looking, but it’s not the average casual game you’d expect.”

“…behind these lie a fun and absorbing game accomplished with easy controls and a unique concept.”

“The help function, far from being the standard read-then-press-the-next-button-type, is delightfully creative.”

“Once you get playing, it’s hard to stop! This game is a lot harder than it looks; you’ll play over and over trying to beat your own score.”

A big thanks to App Girl Reviews.

AppsAddicts Star Fusion review

August 7, 2009

Star Fusion has its first professional review from AppsAddicts who have scored the game 8/10. I’m pretty chuffed to see it on a review site and the fact that the reviewers liked it is the icing on the cake!

I have to say that the guys at AppsAddicts are very nice people. They appear to have a great work ethic, maintaining contact with me during the review to get information on the game and to let me know that a review had been published.

Here are some snippets from the review…

“Star fusion is a quick one to pick up and figure out, but a hard one to master.”

“Don’t let the children’s book style graphics fool you, the game is surprisingly difficult, especially when the stars come screaming by in multiples.”

“You probably won’t keep it on your phone for the next year, but it is definitely entertaining when you are just killing time and surfing the App Store for a fast hit.”

“…it gets serious approval from a 7 year old and a 9 year old- and keeping them entertained in the car for $0.99 is a very, very good thing.”
